SOUTHWEST INSPIRATION | Shopping
Everywhere across the Four Corners region one can find an unexpected mercantile used by the local people or wonderful galleries where collectors from around the world come to find interesting works of art. Today's western shopping centers are modern trading posts, while some of the original trading posts still operate and display interesting merchandise and artifacts. Cities like Scottsdale, Arizona and Santa Fe, New Mexico present the widest selection and particularly the most exclusive inventories of western wear, jewelry and art together with folk art and Americana. And surprisingly, many of the region's museum shops often times have treasures unseen anywhere else.

Western wear, Indian art, Funky stuff – 10 days
When one returns home after visiting the American Southwest, a place that embraces centuries of history, multiple cultures and artistic traditions, one must carry back in their suitcase at least the following items: a pair of real cowboy boots
(never mind whether they are new or used), a carved custom made silver buckle, a cowboy hat and shirt, a turquoise and silver piece of jewelry, a colorful Indian blanket, a Navajo folk art carving, a piece of Pueblo pottery and a Hopi Kachina doll. Also a CD with the sounds of this land, represented by both Indian and Western music is a must. Ingredients that make up the local spicy cuisine…..any kind of chile , should also find a corner in a traveler's luggage.
All this can be found in and between the contemporary and luxurious city of Phoenix and nearby Scottsdale with its hundreds of galleries and shops and in the final Mecca of Santa Fe. The presence of the three cultures, Native, Hispanic and Anglo, that identify the City Different, and its creative aura make this town a truly unique place that offers an exciting and unforgettable shopping experience.
